I-R Spraycan

First prototype spray canHere is a tutorial about how we went about making the first IR spray can. More due to be made up soon, let us know how your attempts go / any different techniques you use.

Materials used:

- Empty / used aerosol can [We used a Molotow art type]

- Some old / used aerosol caps [it took us a few attempts to hollow them out well]

- Infra-red LED [We used Maplins YH70M]

- Push-to-make switch [We used Maplins N01AR]

- The lid of a 35mm film cannister

- An empty vitamin-C tablet tube

- 1.5v AAA battery

- Some single-core electronic project wire

- Strong epoxy glue

- Soldering iron / solder and various tools / bits and bobs.

Note: it is assumed that you are used to working with hand tools and are careful enough not to hurt yourself during this project. If you’re not confident, don’t do it! We can’t and won’t take any responsibility / hold any liability here.
